Jacques le Marois day at Deauville

3 minute read

Or to give it the full title Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques-le-Marois.

It's over 1600m and the second and third in the Jockey Club (Derby) are dropping down in trip.

Favourite is one of these, Christopher Head's Big Rock with Lemaitre riding – they are on 3/1.  As these prices come out of England Inspiral is 9/2 for Gosdens-Dettori but they will have to turn the tables on Triple Time who is on 7/2 for Kevin Ryan and Neil Callan.

We are going slightly wider and will have some of the hard-earned on Marhaba Ya Sanafi for Andreas Schütz with Ryan Moore booked for the ride and 10/1 currently available.  He's the other placegetter from the Jockey Club where he was third after winning the (French) 2000 Guineas.  He could make a good quinella with Big Rock.

Earlier the Prix Minerve is G3 for the 3yo fillies over 2500m.  We have to patriotically support the favourite Tasmania, by Australia.  She's with Francis Graffard and Murzabayev rides and they are on 7/4.

William Haggas is sending Crack of Light, a Kingman filly, and Tom Marquand here and they are on 5/2 in the 7 runner field.

If you want a roughie for the multiples try Angel Guidance, a Mastercraftsman filly who is having only her third start but she's on the up and with Andre Fabre and Barzalona rides so they are on 14/1.
