Deauville Tuesday 15th

3 minute read

And review of Sunday's races.

Jockey Club winner Ace Impact is favourite for the Arc and for Tuesday's G2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano he's odds-on so a spectacular run is needed.  Aidan O'Brien challenges with Victoria Road 5/1 with the son of Saxon Warrior going for a 5th consecutive win – and of course Ace Impact is unbeaten.  Al Riffa is also on single-figure odds with Joseph O'Brien saddling the Wooton Basset product and he's booked Soumillon for the ride.

Also on the card the G3 Prix de Lieury for the 3yo fillies over 1600m with 11 to run.  It's very open with the current favourite being Sivka Burka on 4/1 – Chappet-Bachelot – she's a daughter of Siyouni  as is Dabawi 5/1 with Graffard-Guyon looking after the Aga Khan's filly.  Immensitude is also on 5/1 for Wattel-Pouchin who won the Preis von Berlin on Sunday.

Sunday at Deauville saw a great ride from Frankie Dettori to guide Inspiral to victory in the Jacques Le Marois with Big Rock 1 ¼ lengths back in second and Light Infantry 9/1 in third.

The Prix Minerve went to Engaliwe 22/1 from Dschingis Star 23/1 (was 50/1 earlier) with Crack of Light third.  Some hard luck stories here especially for Tasmania who got boxed in on the rail and then blocked twice when he tried to get a run.
