3 minute read

At York on Thursday it was Warm Heart under James Doyle who came to the front first.

Under a good ride from James Doyle the 9/1 shot got the victory over Free Wind with favourite Savethelastdance third.  All three were daughters of Galileo.

The G2 Lowther went to Relief Rally for William Haggas and Tom Marquand who defeated Cherry Blossom in what was expected to be a close contest and while Relief Rally had a length on Cherry Blossom there was a hell of a go for the minors with only a head separating 3rd (Symbology), 4th and 5th and then ¾ length to 6th (Star of Mystery).

Friday sees the running of the Lonsdale G2 over 3300m which is often seen as a lead in to the Melbourne Cup.  There are 7 runners in this year's edition with Andrew Balding's Coltrane on 5/2 with Oisin Murphy riding, Courage Mon Ami for Gosdens-Dettori on 5/2 and the one we like Quickthorn on 10/3 for Hughie Morrison and Tom Marquand and of course our old friend Broome is on 7/1.  Since there are only 7 runners put the names in a hat and draw 2.

The Gimcrack G2 is over 1200m for 2yo c&g and has a field of 10.  Johannes Brahms is on 9/4 for O'Brien-Moore – he's by Siyouni.  Kylian is 11/4 for Karl Burke and Cliff Lee and he's by Invincible Spirit with a lightly raced roughie we like Jehangeer on 14/1 – by Kodiac.

The Nunthorpe is G1 over the 1000m dash and has a great field of 16 involved.  Highfield Princess 13/8 Quinn-Hart is renewing rivalry with Bradsell 4/1 Watson- Hollie Doyle and we have liked what we've seen so far of Big Evs on 6/1 for M. Appleby-Atzeni – he's had 3 starts for 2 wins and a second.
