With French racing now back at headquarters there are 5 Group races on the card.
They start with the Prix de la Rochette G3 for 2yos over 1400m and there are 7 runners. Beauvalier has won his three starts to date and is on 7/4 for Barberot-Guyon. He's by Lope de Vega. Havana Cigar is of course by Havana Grey and is on 2/1 having won 2 of his 3 starts to date, and Evade is a Wooton Basset from Andre Fabre's yard with Barzalona riding.
The Prix Gladiateur is G3 over 3100m also with a field of 7 led by Skazino 15/8 with Lastochka 5/2 the obvious choices and if a third pick is wanted Moon Wolf 4/1.
The Prix Prince d'Orange is G3 for the 3yos over 2000m and again 7 runners. Horizon Drivve is 2/1, Birr Castle 5/2 and we rather like Goliath, from Francis Graffard's yard who has won three over this trip and 8/1 tempting.
The Prix du Moulin de Longchamp is the highlight of the afternoon – it's G1 over 1600m and has 8 runners. Big Rock can redeem himself here as Christopher Head's pupil has a slight blot on his copy book after his last two races – he's on 4/5. We like Facteur Cheval a lot and are happy with the 5/1 quote and of course we cannot leave Sauterne out – on 8/1.
La Coupe de Maisons-Lafitte is G3 over 2000m has 10 runners with Andreas Schutz's Monty on 3/1 and Gerald Mosse on board. Andromede is another Graffard runner with Marie Velon hoping to repeat her winning ride in Japan last Sunday – they are on 4/1, and German raider Lord Charming is our roughie here on 10/1 for Peter Schiergen and Sybille Vogt.
