Hong Kong 23/24 starts Sunday

3 minute read

We've been holding this awaiting more weather news.

The amber alert has been turned off and the HKJC says the track hasn't been too badly affected although the going is shown as "good to yielding" but with rain continuing the latter may come into play.

The main feature of opening day is the HKSAR Chief Executive's Cup a Class 1 over 1200m and featuring the clash of the champ Lucky Sweynesse who will be ridden by the champ Zac Purton and the up-and-coming Victor the Winner with Karis Teetan riding.  There's only 6 runners here with Lucky on 1.0 and Victor 7.0.

There is a get-out in race 10 the Tai Mo Shan Class 2 over 1400m with 10 runners.  Looks like it's between Find My Love 3.8 and Flaming Rabbit 4.2.  We think Chris So's Super Sunny Skies could be a go on 5.1 and for a rough-ish e/w The Golden Scenery with Avdulla in the irons.

With two Hong Kong runners in Seoul those races are also on the card for Sunday.
