Not all went according to the plot at Longchamp on Sunday.

Firstly in the Prix Foy Iresine was beaten by a neck by the upstart Place du Carrousel however there were only 5 runners so difficult to see how that will play in future races.

The Vermeille went to Warm Heart who got a terrific ride from James Doyle as they held off a strong challenge from Melo Melo with Sea Silk Road third.  Favourite Blue Rose Cen ran a shocker and there has to be something either physically or mentally wrong with the horse.­

And the Prix Niel saw German raider Fantastic Moon defeat odds-on favourite Feed The Flame by 2 ½ lengths.  Feed The Flame was second favourite for the Arc after Ace Impact so that position may change.  Bravais 14/1 got third and Marhaba Ya Sanafi fourth.
