Sun Chariot Day at Newarket

3 minute read

Will it be a "500" for Dettori?

Frankie Dettori is booked to ride his old friend Inspiral in this race and should he not win the previous race and win this it will be his 500th win at Newmarket.

However the Gosdens favourite girl is not the most reliable of conveyances and she will need to be on her best hooves to hold off some interesting competition.  There is no doubting her ability but we will have to see if she is going to show this in the race.  We are not prepared to take her at odds-on.

Her main rival will be the French raider Mqse de Sevigne from Andre Fabre's yard and jockey Alexis Pouchin riding.  She's responded well to every question asked of her and deserves her trip to England.  Pouchin is a very talented young jockey but he does not have experience when it comes to handling Newmarket so we hope he has done his homework.  7/2 is not a bad price.

Aidan O'Brien's Meditate was an all-conquering 2yo who lost her way for a while at the start of her 3yo year but now seems to realise she is supposed to be a race horse.  Ryan Moore rides and she is on 7/1.

Heredia has been supplemented for this and is not without a chance as she moves through the grades.  She's certainly one for the multiples on 8/1 with Sean Levey riding for Richard Hannon Jr.
