39th Gran Premio Latinoamericano

3 minute read

This wonderful race which unites all the jurisdictions in South America was won this year by Brazil.

That was in the form of Doutor Sureno, the horse trained by V Fornasaro and ridden by Jose Silva.  They pulled away at the end to win by 3 lengths over the Peruvian Don Feres in second and the Argentinian Natan third.

They were followed home by Papa Min from Uruguay, Callajero from Brazil and Costa del Norte sixth.  Those first six horses started out of gates 1-8.

Doutour Sureno is by the Japanese stallion Agnes Gold who has had a tremendous impact on the thoroughbred industry in Brazil.

The next edition of the race is to take place in Lima at the Monterrico Hipodromo and back to the April time slot.
