Sunday's running of the QEII Cup saw a new star emerge.

She had been progressing nicely and looked talented and this talent was revealed in the race when she took off 200m out and left the rest of the field with a clear view of her posterior.

Rouge Eveil ran a blinder for second and Harper, who had been among the front runners, stayed on for a plucky third.

Geraldina was taking after her sire Maurice as she was in a muck lather before the race and then bombed the start and had too much to make up.

On Saturday the 2yos was, as expected, a case of anything can happen and Jantar Mantar won from Enva Love Faith and Namura Hooker.
