Argentina's biggest race is G1 over 2400m and gives the winner an entry into the Breeders' Cup turf.

This year the honours go to El Encinal, ridden vigorously by Eduardo Ortega Pavon, just managed to get his head in front of the brave filly No Fear, by Agnes Gold, with jockey Francisco Leandro riding on 51.5.

There were big hopes that she would be the first filly to win the race since 1992 but El Encinal put paid to that goal.  Nevertheless connections have a very good horse and much to look forward to.

Treasure Island ran a great race to get the third money just ahead of Jazz Seiver.
