Yan Chai Trophy

3 minute read

This Class 2 over 2000m is the feature of Saturday's Sha Tin card.

There are ten starters, several of whom will be pleased to see the longer trip.  Ensued looks like he is one of these as he won over this trip in November.  He's on 3.4 for Size-Teetan.  Next best in the market is Five G Patch who ran a place in the Champions and Chater and is on 6.0 for Cruz-Purton.  A third pick is harder to come by but the market has Rise Bretheren on 6.8 for Shum-Hewitson.

Great to see that trainer Manfred Man has had his licence extended "because he has a good horse".  We really think HKJC should reconsider their policy of compulsory retirement for trainers because of age.  You wouldn't do the hours if you didn't love it and as long as they can train a certain number of winners that should be the deciding factor.
