Having won her previous start by 12 lengths, Sweet Azteca moved to win at Grade 1 level.

That was in the Beholder Mile at Santa Anita where Sweet Azteca jumped well and took the lead early on with the only serious challenger being Adare Manor with Green Up a bit further away in third.  Sweet Azteca is a daughter of Sharp Azteca and is with Mike McCarthy and had Flavian Prat doing the steering.  She started at 17/2.

At Tampa Bay Downs Marketsegmentation was scratched from the Hillsborough which led in theory to the way being open for Fluffy Socks however she got stuck in a pocket in not one of Irad Ortiz/s best rides and this allowed Jorge Ruiz to claim his 500th win in North America with Sparkle Blue .  Aspen Grove finished ahead of Fluffy Socks in the minor placings. 

The Florida Oaks went to Waskesiu, a daughter of American Pharoah, who attracted quite a bit of money before the start when 7,8 was reached.  Style Points ran well for second and Dancing N Dixie was third.

Over at Oaklawn it was Tiny Temper who won the Azeri from Misty Veil and Bellamore.  Our tips finished at the wrong end of the 8 runner field.
