We said yesterday all you need to know was how to spell "Mullins".

That proved to be the case with the trainer saddling three winners but not the winner of the first race.  That honour went to Slade Steel for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore.  Mystical Power added another second to his CV and favourite Tully Hill was up there but faded at the end with the third place going to Firefox for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy.

However the Mullins team didn't have long to wait as Paul Townend took Gaelic Warrior to the winning post in the Arkle.  Found A Fifty took second for Elliott-Kennedy ahead of the Mullins-Danny Mullins El Etait Temps.

The Champion Hurdle saw them keep the winner's trophy when State Man won the battle with the Elliott-Kennedy team's Irish Point with Luccia 33/1 finishing third for Nicky Henderson and James Bowen, the only one of his 5 runners on the day to complete the course.

And then Lossiemouth came out and won the Mares' Hurdle with Telmesomethinggirl 22/1 for de Bromhead-Blackmore and Hispanic Moon third at 40/1.

Wednesday's card is headed by the Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle Gr 1 with a field of 8.  And guess what – the favourite Ballyburn is another Mullins-Townend runner but odds-on at 2/5.  He's supposed to be something special .  He's got two stablemates in the field – Ile Atlantique on 5/1 with Mr PW M riding and Predators Gold with Danny M in the irons.  We like Mercurey and at 18/1 worth a small e/w.

The Broadway Novices Chase Gr 1 has got just 6 runners but it's headed by a Mullins runner – Fact To File on 4/5 with Mark Walsh on board.  He beat Tuesday's winner Gaelic Warrior so that form is franked.  Stay Away Fay is on 7/2 for Nicholls-Cobden.

The Coral Cup is handicap with 24 runners so a great betting go.  The UK Markets have Built By Ballymore on top on 4/1, the Mullins-Walsh Sa Majesté is on 8/2 and well fancied, Ballyadam is on 8/1 for de Bromhead-Blackmore and a roughie here – yes, a Mullins runner is quoted at 40/1 – Lambron with Danny Mullins riding.

The Queen Mother Champion Chase Gr 1 has 8 runners with – yes, the Mullins runner El Fabiolo on top on 1/2 as he's unbeaten in Chases and going for win No. 7 in this format.

Paul Townend riding.  Jonbon has been in clashes with El Fabiolo before this but in recent times it's been in favour of El Fabiolo.  Edwardstone is a reliable conveyance and as usual Alan King is putting up Tom Cannon.  There are good claims for several of the other runners in what could be a great race.
