2016 Goodwood - Supido In Danger Of Missing Run

3 minute read

Boom sprinter Supido is no sure thing to gain a run in the 2016 Goodwood.

Supido sits outside the 20 runner field limit for the 2016 Goodwood.

Winner of his last six runs on the trot, Supido sits 23rd on the order of entry for the 2016 Goodwood at Morphetville on May 21.

A field of 20 plus four emergencies will be assembled for the 2016 Goodwood Handicap when acceptances are taken next week.

Supido’s six wins have all been in city company, the latest when scoring over 1000 metres at Flemington last Saturday over Admiral, who is safely in the 2016 Goodwood field.

Supido is likely to climb at least a couple of sports on the order with news that Knoydart has been retired while Stratum Star, one of three entrants for Darren Weir, runs in the 2016 BTC Cup at Doomben this Saturday and is not expected to travel back to Adelaide for the 2016 Goodwood.

Despite his precarious position on the order of entry, Supido is second favourite in TAB all-in betting on the 2016 Goodwood at $5.

Black Heart Bart is the $3.80 favourite for the 2016 Goodwood with The Quarterback and Zebulon both at $9.

I Am A Star added to her last start Flemington maiden win impressively. From barrier one, she took a few strides to settle in fourth after the first 300m, saving ground around the bend and just before the last corner found room one off the fence which allowed her to challenge for the lead into the straight. Rider Steven King sat quietly until the 200m then asked the question and the filly bounded clear and won clearly and with plenty in hand. Bangs led from the barrier and around the bend and into the straight. She stayed with the winner until the 200m and then held on the best she could to the line. One Blink was back around the bend and still last (wide) turning in, then kept on strongly almost grabbing second at the post.
