Godolphin-raced filly Raiment put up a very smart first up effort in winning here. She began well and soon crossed to settle nicely outside the leader (Zestful). She got the better of that mare and went to the front at the 300m and then dashed away over the latter stages to win impressively. Samantha raced in fifth place, three deep without cover, before moving up (widest of all) at the home turn. She went to second at the 100m and fought on to hold that position, having no chance with the winner. Nancy settled in second last place in the eight-horse field, was under riding on turning for home and then kept battling on quite well to take the minor placing.
