In a follow up to the one-two result for the Ron Quinton stable in the Golden Pendant (Gr 2, 1400m) at Rosehill a fortnight ago, the same mares fought out the finish here but this time Dixie Blossoms reversed the finishing order. She raced in sixth place, one off the rails, behind a strong pace (first 100m 58.83). She moved up well at the 300m, challenged at the 150m and finished well to score impressively. Stablemate Daysee Doom travelled particularly well in fourth place (with cover). She moved up strongly at the 300m, took the lead shortly afterwards and fought gamely for a very good second. The Les Bridge-trained Zenalicous raced back in ninth place, one off the rails, commenced a wide move at the 300m and kept running on really well for a really good third while Savapinski was handily placed on the rails in third place and held on well for (3.3 lengths) fourth after advancing quickly in class after recent provincial wins.
