"It was my first ride on the horse. Has been running quite well this prep but been a bit unlucky. The winning move today was putting the blinkers on. He travelled really well and had a lot in hand.

"I began alright but there was nice pace early and I saw the chance to get on the back of Sweetzou so I chose to do that and everything opened up on the corner so it was a matter of balancing him up and letting him do it.

"Through the line he was quite strong. Over the 1000 metres I still thought that they'd be a little bit sharp for us but he was good. I was coming here quite confident. If you look through his form he was running against much better horses than he met today."
