Winning Trainer: Ben & JD Hayes (JD speaking)
Purchased at Inglis Premier: "Very pleased and it is always timely to have a winnr in general but to have one on the eve of a sale that we purchased her out of, just so happy for the owners and connections.
"That was a very professional performance and we're very happy."
Back to 1000m today: "She's a very fast filly and we did think that she's a 1000-metre specialist because she is so fast and brilliant.
"She was a little bit tardy away so I think that's what played into the different tactic and Mick Dee summed it up so well.
"He could win on a broomstick at the moment. He really summed it up and and she was strong late. We couldn't be more thrilled."
<No firm plans next but Ben said to Channel 7 that possibly more 1000m races>
Winning Jockey: Michael Dee
"To be honest, she was a little bit of a handful today. She got quite worked up behind the barriers and was having a really good think about it, so I was a little bit concerned but that just shows her determination and her will to really run fast.
"We were able to conserve that a little bit in the first half and just stay out wide and keep her relaxed doing it that way. She was too good in the end. She quickened up and was strong to the line.
"I could feel she was starting to find her top gear late and just hold.
Is there anything he could do in the first 200 metres to settle her: "I think it helped with the draw we had.
"We didn't have to be in amongst other horses or anything really around us so we were lucky enough to stay out wide and try and keep her relaxed and it worked."
