Winning Trainer: Ciaron Maher (rep by Jack Turnbull)
"He's a quirky horse but we got him down south and changed up a few things. He relaxed at Ballarat and we changed up a few things.
"We took off his crossover and did a bit of schooling. Luke Cartwright took him down the lane on Thursday and did a few obstacles there.
"We turned the screw a touch and put him into the race today."
Strong rider needed: "He needs a rider like Jamie. That is so important. You can't ask them, you've got to tell them.
"He's an older horse and he has worked it out. Just a change can get a result like this."
Winning Jockey: Jamie Mott
"He's a horse that has obviously shown a lot in the past and out of form for the last two preparations but I watched his trial - Ethan Brown trialled him - and he looked really sharp.
"Ethan said he felt great so I confident today that if I could get him in a nice position he was on song to run a good race.
"Albeit I didn't know he'd win but the stable were really confident that he'd run well.
"I was anticipating He'll Rip taking the sit but his horse might have been a bit keen so it kind of left me three-deep early and I came back to go to the fence but Imperial Lad qas quite keen so I couldn't do that either.
"He was terrific for me and tried really hard."
