Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 1.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Randwick Kensington, Moonee Valley, Mudgee, Mornington, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Mt Gambier and Canberra.
RANDWICK KENSINGTON: RACE 5 @ 6:00 PM
CLOUDLAND (2) progressive gelding with a strong winning record. Sat on the speed with the 60.5kg second-up before being collared late when second over 1300m at Rosehill on November 15. Dylan Gibbons retains the ride and loves rain affected going. LOUISVILLE (4) lightly-raced gelding who was heavily backed on resumption when a fast finishing winner over 1250m at Canterbury on November 17. Has won second-up and will keep improving as he gets out in trip. REBEL SHADOW (3) has a fitness edge over most of these and back in grade tonight. Improves with the sting out of the ground and the engagement of Jason Collett is a positive. CHARLEMAGNE (6) consistent Goulburn-trained gelding who wound up strongly when resumed with a solid third over 1250m at Canterbury on November 17. Goes just as well second-up and on rain affected going. Keep safe.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 5 @ 8:15 PM
FULLPROOF (5) hit the line strongly first-up at Ballarat over 1400m, missing by a nose and giving every impression he wants this trip now. He's lightly raced and beat a decent horse second up last time in. Lightly raced, if he can land midfield he should prove too strong. LADY TINO (1) is unbeaten from four starts. Too strong as a short-priced favourite at Mornington, this is harder but she'll likely lead again and is hard to knock. TEST THE LAW (2) has placed at his past two over this sort of trip and looks well placed at this level. Drawn awkwardly but gets D Lane on and will take some beating. SIMEON (4) comes here third up and should be at peak fitness with a run over the mile last time. Lands on speed from the inside gate and should go close. OUR LONE STAR (3) wasn't bad last time and is in the mix.

MUDGEE: RACE 2 @ 1:49 PM
SMOKIN' CRAZY (1) last appeared seven weeks ago when beaten just over a length over 1300m at Newcastle. Promising mare who has the blinkers reapplied today. Recent trial winner who has found a nice race to re-launch the campaign. BLISS (7) recorded a comfortable maiden win over this distance at Warren recently, made all the more impressive in that three subsequent winners have come from the race. Should measure up in this better company. TWO AYE (5) is back from a five-month lay-off. Progressed nicely during her maiden prep and a bright return will not surprise. TURNAWAY (4) improved sharply last start at the second run of the prep, beaten just 0.6 lengths over 1400m at Warren. Sure to be about the money again. LUNA EAGLE (8) hasn't been far away of late and the addition of blinkers might be significant.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Smokin' Crazy.
MORNINGTON: RACE 1 @ 1:10 PM
RAMBAULT (5) wasn't too far off them over this track and trip last start and will be rock-hard fit for this. Right in this after the scratchings. THINK D'ORO (6) gets Stackhouse on board from the low draw and may make his presence felt. LADY SAN CHEZ (8) next best in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Rambault to finally break through.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 7:00 PM
CHIKARA (2) ran on strongly but just failed to pick up the winner when first-up last start at this track and trip. Will take a lot from that hitout and could take closer order from the inside draw. Suitably placed to go one better. SIX SIDES (5) made a good return at this track and trip when only beaten 0.9 lengths into fourth after being prominent at the bend. Has a fair record when second up. Fitter so anticipating improvement. ARTIE PANTZ (6) raced just off the lead before letting down nicely and scoring a neck win at this course and distance last time. Won her lone third-up attempt so is one of the main contenders. IRISH MAUDIE (8) scored two back at this track when fresh and was only one length away last time. Respect.
SELECTIONS: Chikara to atone for a narrow fresh defeat.
ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 5 @ 3:34 PM
BOLD AND SMOOTH (1) was quickly back to form beaten a nose here this grade and trip. Carries top weight but is capable of going one better. DONMORE GIRL (7) has been heavily bet at both her race starts. Placed first up and then led delivering the Maiden win (both at Mackay). Has the blinkers applied the first time and will keep improving. It is hard to risk the lethal Stanley-Clinton Taylor linkage. NANO STAR (5) resumes and has placed fresh. Placed three times at the back of the previous preparation and can add meat to the trifecta if presented forward. BELLA BIANCA (6) led and improved sharply winning the Maiden. Won't be far away building on that.
SELECTIONS: Bold And Smooth with the fitness edge.
MT GAMBIER: RACE 8 @ 6:23 PM
CHILL WITH TEEJAY (4) has hit the line nicely in her two runs back without threatening the winner. Strips fitter third up and shoulders a handy record over the track and trip. Leading player. ORNAMENTAL LADY (9) was denied narrowly of resuming a winner at Morphettville three back. Hasn't gone on with it yet but will be suited by stepping back out in trip. Can give this a big shake. HEIR OF TAVISTOCK (2) resumes. Yet to score fresh but looks a big chance if he's able to recapture the form he was in late last prep. DETNAW (5) continues to knock on the door but just struggles to land the winning blow. Carries more weight with the drop in grade. Big chance now.
SELECTIONS: Backing Chill With Teejay to win.
CANBERRA: RACE 6 @ 5:03 PM
PROMETIO MAS (5) delivered a CL1 at Gundagai following three narrow defeats at this track. He races handy and the Dryden-trained galloper is the one to beat after scratchings. CAPTAIN CORELLI (4) just missed in easier at Cowra but his edge is his liking for heavy tracks. Has a small claim and can use the low gate. Tipping he will give a sight at a price. YOUR NOT THE BOSS (8) resumes and doubt the heavy track will pose an issue. Lightly raced and can come back further improved. Keep safe. TITAN STAR (2) has been racing in stronger and likes the wet. His fitness will hold him in good stead.
SELECTIONS: Prometio Mas appeals most.
