Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Goulburn, Murwillumbah, Warren, Moonee Valley, Geelong, Cranbourne, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast and Morphettville.

CANTERBURY: RACE 6 @ 8:30 PM

HEAD OF THE HERD (8) progressive Snitzel colt who created a big impression at fourth career run when a slick 3.5 len winner over 1500m at Hawkesbury on December 3. Gets the right run again and should have little trouble with the rise in grade. Go close. SCORCHED LAND (6) had mixed success this time in and goes well this trip. Total forgive at the latest when settled back with the 59.5kg from the wide gate when seventh over 1600m at Newcastle on December 2. Best figures have him right in this. TARAASHOQ (3) was far from disgraced first-up in tougher company when a tiring sixth over 1400m at Kembla Grange on November 25. Has sound second-up form and is not to be underestimated. ENOTIS (7) progressive gelding resuming tonight. Won his last two in good style and not asked to do much when fifth in a recent 1030m trial at Rosehill on December 5. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Head Of The Herd to win.

GOULBURN: RACE 4 @ 3:40 PM

TOKYO ICE (9) has been narrowly beaten both starts and was a short-priced favourite the most recent on a heavy surface at Orange. Was even better here prior on a good surface. Strips fitter and can use the inside gate. Is sure to take beating. GRADI (5) resumes for a sharp local barn. Led on debut in a strong form race and folded up late. Will be naturally improved and has the blinkers applied for the first time. The barrier is awkward but Heywood stays in the saddle and that's a push. SOHO SUSHI (10) led well-supported at Canberra but was overrun in the latter stages. Has to manage the longer trip but will race forward and get every chance. THREAD FIGHTER (6) resumes from an inside barrier and has warmed up with an 800m trial here. The in-form Martin rides and he has to be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tokyo Ice to win.

MURWILLUMBAH: RACE 5 @ 3:15 PM

DIABLO BOLT (8) relished getting over a bit of ground for the first time last start, comfortably accounting for a maiden field over 1710m at Grafton. In good hands so he should kick on from that run over this longer journey. The consistent FAST LADY (10) has been in the placings at her last four, all in the 1900-2200m range. Raced handy but didn't quite get a strong 11 furlongs last time at the Sunshine Coast. Big chance coming back in trip. MANA COMBAT (4) hasn't set the world on fire in shorter races this time in work since switching stables. Produced a good figure over 2200m at Ararat last prep so this journey could see a spike in form. NEWMARKET MISS (11) has been about the money of late so despite the query over her at this trip she is worth consideration.
SELECTIONS: Diablo Bolt to win again.

WARREN: RACE 4 @ 4:02 PM

RING THE BANK (5) is having his first start in NSW since making the move from Victoria. He will want more ground than this but has been placed over the trip in a fresh state in the past. He can win this but the markets will be your best guide without the aid of any public trials. BELLUCCI BELLA (3) made a bright start to this campaign but her form dipped last time out at Muswellbrook three weeks ago. This is easier and she is worth another chance. MEAN GIRLS (7) battled on fairly last time out at Mudgee when finishing fifth. She might be strong enough this season to see out 1200 metres and worth including in all combinations. KALPANA (6) has made the move South from a leading Queensland stable and could find the quieter country life more to her liking. She is seldom far from the action and can get a slice of this fresh up.
SELECTIONS: Ring The Bank each-way.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 5 @ 8:45 PM

SISTERHOOD (1) is a promising mare who beat a subsequent winner first up at Sandown-Lakeside and looks well-placed to go on with it now. She was very good in her maiden campaign and looks to have come back even better. This is no harder than last time and from the ideal draw she should go close. YOSEMITE FALLS (9) is the big watch. She was dominant on debut at Echuca, winning by 6 lengths back in March. We haven't seen her since which is the query but she could be pretty good. CHARMING DI (2) is racing consistently of late and comes through a handy race on Ballarat Cup day. Must have claims off that. MISS PASSION (6) was too smart as a short-priced favourite first up and looks a likely improver. LITTLE MISS GUTSAA (3) is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Sisterhood to win.

GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 3:10 PM

FALANGHINA (10) franked her sound debut effort for sixth with a big maiden win at Ararat by over four lengths. She had plenty left in the tank last time out and can take the next step immediately. NUMPTY (4) is resuming and normally comes to hand quickly. She is nicely placed after the three-kilo claim and should secure a soft run early from her handy gate. Each-way value. BLACK ZOUS (3) hit the line with purpose fresh up when finishing runner-up. He has been handled patiently and should be in for a good season. Stick with him. SOLD THA CAR (1) has been struggling to break through this campaign but can turn that form around in this suitable contest.
SELECTIONS: Falanghina win.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 2 @ 6:25 PM

Tricky race to assess with a few of these facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade THREE DOG NIGHT (1) has gotten better with every run this time in since joining the new stable and looks to be nearing a maiden victory. Again gets the benefit of Burke's 4kg claim and looks the one they all have to run down. VIA VEGAS (5) has shown ability placing in both outings to date and will be near his peak now third time at the races. Looms as the main danger. ART CRITIC (7) resumes here but showed enough when last in work to warrant consideration in a race like this. Can perform while fresh. OLA CAPRI (10) just missed the placings over this journey last time out and will strip fitter for that hit-out. In the mix. DEFENSE TYCOON (3) was at cricket score odds on debut and didn't disgrace when third at Geelong. Cannot be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Three Dog Night to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 6 @ 4:26 PM

CASROCK (13) led and won the CL2 here and has been racing well in stronger city races since. 25% stable striker Cejay Graham stays aboard and the mare finds the right race. HEROIC MISS (11) has won two of her last three and was dominant from the front here the latest heavily bet. Graham gets off but she is capable of repeating the dose. GET WHAT YOU GIVE (4) is a poly track specialist looking to make the hat trick third-up. In good hand and tipping he can bring that form to the turf. Draws for a soft run and benefits from a handy 2kg claim. SENSATIONAL REWARD (6) led and wasn't beaten far here two-back this grade/trip. Goes into the trifectas at least.
SELECTIONS: Backing Casrock.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 4 @ 7:38 PM

TOBA (2) settled near the tail but came home with a powerful finish for second last time out over 1400m at this track. The extra 200m suits and he will be close to peaking third up. Ready to win. ABOVE THE SKY (12) did his best work late and finished 1.5 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 1400m at this track. Another capable peaking third up and stepping out to the mile. SET ABLAZE (5) turned in another solid effort last start when 3 lengths from the winner at this track. Include. PENDING (11) found the line well last start so will enjoy the longer trip and is race fit now.
SELECTIONS: Toba to win off a second-up eye-catcher.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 5:00 PM

COVERED CALL (1) couldn't bring up the hat-trick last start on the Parks track but wasn't far away. Will enjoy the back in grade and has enough early muster to overcome the sticky draw. Leading player. NAMADJI (2) bounced back off a disappointing effort two back with an eye-catching placing at Gawler. The booking of leading rider Jake Toeroek is a good push for his chances and the low draw helps. Can give this a big shake. QUIETLY SPOKEN (6) made progress last time out when finishing strongly into the frame at Murray Bridge. Can take closer order this time from the inside alley and is nicely placed to feature. LANGWORTHY (9) and CHARM SLINGA (5) also warrant consideration on best efforts.
SELECTIONS: Backing Covered Call to win.
