Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 28.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Ascot, Gosford, Orange, Bowraville, Mornington, Warwick and Home Hill.
ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 6:37 PM
DUN WITH THE BLUES (1) has been running around in much tougher company, finishing only 3.1L off the winner in Listed company last time out. Does rise in weight but Campbell's 2kg claim comes in handy. Looks set to notch up another victory today. OCEAN AURA (2) got the job done at Bunbury last start and looked good in doing so, rounding up her opponents. Barrier 1 is a slight worry with her racing pattern, but her figures stack up nicely and she appears the main danger. HOIST THE COLOURS (3) has been racing well without winning and gets the services of Parnham in the saddle on the quick back-up. Can make his own luck up front and will prove tough to run down. FORLANE (8) should be at peak fitness now and can be in the finish on best form. EXPELLIARMUS (5) wasn't far away last time out and has claims.
SELECTIONS: Dun With The Blues is the one to beat.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Ascot Computer Card.
GOSFORD: RACE 5 @ 3:35 PM
The $200,000 Listed Gosford Guineas. ROYAL TRIBUTE (3) has been in the mix in all four outings and has tuned up for this with a sharp Randwick trial. Makes plenty of appeal from the low draw with Hippo on board. INFATUATION (9) resumed in good order behind a pretty smart one and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Capable of playing a big role while fresh. FLEETWOOD (4) doesn't know how to run a bad race and can earn another cheque. FLYING TRAPEZE (5) next best from the favourable starting position.
SELECTIONS: Royal Tribute to win.
BOWRAVILLE: RACE 5 @ 3:57 PM
BAIYKA (2) has been in the placings her past two starts, finishing third over 1000m at Sunshine Coast last time out. Will find this a little easier than last time. Bold showing expected. ADAMDEEANT (3) was always well back last time out and never really threatened when eighth over 1000m at Kempsey. Is a top-three hope if on-song. MRS ED (6) went forward and gave a great sight when second over 1200m at Nowra last time out. Has been in sound form this prep with a win and two minor placings from six outings. Expected to be competitive. NOSEY (5) finished 3.9 lengths back from the winner last start at Tamworth and is down in weight this time. Best figures have him right in this.
SELECTIONS: Baiyka to win.
WARWICK: RACE 6 @ 4:18 PM
PARTY SPIRIT (16) has won both of her races this prep and jumping from a good draw looks well placed to complete her hat-trick. CIRCULARITY (4) resumes from a spell having won his last start over 1000m at Bowen when sent out as the hot favourite. He has won fresh-up previously and will strip a fit runner having won a recent trial. Well worth an each-way ticket. MICRO (9) finished a close-up third of 11 at Toowoomba last start when well supported. Jumping from a good draw she can atone. BUGALUGS (2) led all of the way to score over 1206m at Grafton last start. He looks well placed in this line-up to go back-to-back.
SELECTIONS: Party Spiit to win.
