Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Moonee Valley, Morphettville and Ascot.
RANDWICK: RACE 10 @ 5:55 PM
JUNQUEIRA (1) classy mare who can do a few things wrong. Failed to jump cleanly from the inside draw and shuffled back when an eye catching fourth behind LADY LAGUNA over 1300m at Gold Coast on January 13. Will appreciate the good early tempo and expecting Rawiller to get the best out of her. EITHER OAR (3) underrated mare who returned in good order two back with a tough win over 1100m here on December 30. Covered ground from the wide gate when a plugging third over 1200m at Rosehill on January 13. 3kg claim helps and expected to figure prominently from the inside gate. TASHI (7) smart mare resuming with a tidy record. Looked sharp when a recent trial winner over 902m at Canterbury on January 9. Gets every chance from the gate. RUPERTAAR (5) third-up up this after running on late to run fifth at the Gold Coast over 1100m on January 13. Can figure in the minor money from the draw.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 2 @ 12:45 PM
BROOKLYN BOSS (3) looks a good bet. He had things to suit last start at Pakenham but beat a handy one in Hard To Cross and did it well. Should strip fitter again third up and looks to get a similarly perfect run here for D Lane. CEERSEVEN (4) was strong to the line first up at Geelong over 1400m, beaten 4.5 lengths. He's lightly raced and can certainly measure up but this is a tricky ride for the apprentice getting back in the field. WEALDSTONE (11) should be ready to show his best third up from a spell with Craig Williams taking the ride.
SELECTIONS: Backing Brooklyn Boss.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 1:37 PM
MARIMENKO (1) only warmed to his task late and had to weave a tight passage when resuming off a long break at Murray Bridge. Is sure to have come on with that run under his belt and the rise in trip should suit. The booking of leading rider Jake Toeroek is another push for his chances. Expect him to take plenty of stopping this time. HUMBOLDT (2) came from a long way back to work home well and find the frame last time out at Gawler. Gets the chance to take much closer order from the inside alley. Expect him to take some stopping if they are able to utilise the gate. I'M A DEXSTAR (6) was well fancied when resuming last start and proved too strong. Fitter for that last hit out and another big run will not surprise.
SELECTIONS: Backing Marimenko to win.
ASCOT: RACE 5 @ 3:40 PM
AUTUMN REBEL (10) is looking for the hat-trick after a good win on the Scarpside at Pinjarra last start. He wasn't stopping at the line, so the slight rise in trip won't be an issue. Only 9 starts into his career, it's easy to think he still has improvement to come as well. Will bring up the hat-trick if he runs to form. SPEAK TO ME (6) steps back out to this trip having been placed at the track and trip two starts back. Key lead with Chris Parnham taking the ride and he draws a much better barrier this time around. On the quick back-up. Expecting a bold effort. I LOVE YOUR SMILE (1) didn't have the best of luck when well beaten here last week and drops back in trip today. Drawn nicely for Fiore with both the stable and jockey in form. Racing well and won't be far away. THOROGOOD (7) was only 1.3L away from Yonga Lass the last time he drew a nice gate. Been a while between wins but looks to have his chance this time. SLUICE BOX (4) produced a good fresh effort and is worth including.
SELECTIONS: Autumn Rebel is the one to beat.
