Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for february 01.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Doombe, Albury, Gosford and Pakenham.
DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
PETERSHAM (9) was well supported when resuming last start but settled back before working home into fourth over 1200m at this track. Usually performs well with a run under her belt and has a win and a placing in two attempts at this distance so the step up suits. Big chance. SNOW BOUM (10) has been consistent this time in and looks close to a win after she stuck on well last start to finish second over 1200m at this track. Strong prospects. SENESCHAL (4) only missed by a head when resuming over 1200m at Sunshine Coast. Goes up in trip and is proven second up. BITOFTHEBLARNEY (1) switches from Victoria and was in the money when first-up at Geelong two back. Can measure up.
SELECTIONS: Petersham to progress second up and win.

ALBURY: RACE 5 @ 4:35 PM
JUST LIKE LIAM (1) was far from his best last start in town, before being eased down in the straight. Had been racing in great order prior, scoring dominantly here in a C1 three back. Drawn sticky but carries a touch of class over these and can return to winning ways. INDIAN SOLDIER (3) was a determined winner here fresh and has followed it up with two solid efforts, nearly scoring again at the latest. Boasts a terrific record on his home track and is drawn well. Bold showing anticipated. KEITH (2) ran a good race last start to finish second here 10 days ago. May appreciate coming back in journey. Expecting him to give a bold sight. DIAMOND CARAT (4) next best.
SELECTIONS: Going Just Like Liam to bounce back to form and win.
GOSFORD: RACE 8 @ 5:30 PM
FLYING SHELLY (2) handy mare who resumed with a fighting second in a small field over 1100m at Wyong on January 18. Goes even better second-up and Jett Stanley retains the ride. Returned good figures at latest and can finish over the top of these. DISNEY CASTLE (8) won well on debut last August before resuming with a wilting fourth over 1250m at Canterbury in Bm72 class on January 19. Strips fitter now and this looks up to this from the inside draw. MISSOUK (4) raced here at her last four starts and started favourite at her last two. Anchored with the 59kg second-up when a tiring sixth over 1200m on January 12. No shock to see her bounce back a winner. LEGGY POINT (10) consistent mare with good fresh form resuming for the Rodney Northam yard. Undefeated this track and looked fairly forward when second in a recent 900m Muswellbrook trial on January 10. Big market watch from the sticky gate.
SELECTIONS: Flying Shelly to win.
PAKENHAM: RACE 2 @ 6:15 PM
BUBBLING (8) ran a good race on debut at this track over 1600m, only beaten a neck in second. Open to plenty of improvement and in the right stable to find winning form quickly. FIOREEN (9) ran a much better race at her second outing after an even effort on debut. She ran into second at Cranbourne last time out and that rating has her comfortably in the finish here. PRIDE OF PROISIR (2) strikes a slightly tougher race than last time but did go well at Benalla as an even money favourite. Has race fitness on his side and should be in the finish. FRENCH FLIRT (7) ran a better race last start at Sandown-Hillside, beaten 4 lengths on that occasion. With natural improvement she should be thereabouts again. PARTY WHIP (1) next best.
SELECTIONS: Bubbling to win.
