Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Moonee Valley, Quirindi, Mackay, Bordertown, Canberra, Terang and Darwin.

CANTERBURY: RACE 2 @ 6:30 PM

MALABAR (2) maps to get the right run tonight and no excuses in these conditions with the claim. Kept coming late when a close-up second over this track and trip on February 9. Expecting him to prove too strong for these. SUNLORD (4) promising gelding jumping sharply in class after scoring a tenacious maiden victory over 1500m at Newcastle on February 3. Will relish the extra trip and maps well with Rawiller aboard. DON PEDRO (1) scored a well-deserved victory after having no luck the run prior when a dominant 1.5 len winner over 1550m here on February 9. At his top now and the trip shouldn't pose a problem. THE PROFESSOR (6) staying bred type fitter after two solid runs on the provincial circuit. This is much stronger and not to be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: Malabar to win.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 1 @ 6:15 PM

GALILAEUS (2) should be set to peak here fourth up from a spell having run a better race last start at Caulfield over 2400m, beaten half a length in second. Looks suited to 3000m now especially given his UK staying form and he might just be too classy for these. BORDER LEICESTER (1) is racing well. He was unsuited back to 2500m last time but the 3000m here is ideal for him. Should be in the finish. BON APPETIT (6) won two in a row before another strong effort here over 2500m last time out. Untried at this longer trip but should give a sight. FLAMBEUR (4) was sound last time at Bendigo over 2200m and could sneak into the finish. MR BLACKWOOD (3) would be a chance at his best.
SELECTIONS: Galilaeus to win.

QUIRINDI: RACE 8 @ 5:20 PM

RAMONES (8) is first-up from a 29-week spell and has transferred from Joe Pride to Simon Casey. Opened last prep with a close second over 1100m at Canterbury which is strong form for a race of this kind. Beautifully weighted so he is clearly the testing material. LOSTMA COWBOY (2) settled back in the field and struggled to make ground when resuming over this trip at Tamworth recently. Fitter and well placed back to a Class 2 from open company last time. AGNODICE (13) found 1000m a bit sharp when resuming at Tamworth last start. Expect more out to this more favourable journey. INVAHIR (1) impressed first-up at Walcha. Probable leader who will take some catching. RAPID RUBY (9) didn't fire last Friday at Tamworth but can do better today coming back to 1200m.
SELECTIONS: Ramones has the class to take this out.

MACKAY: RACE 5 @ 3:54 PM

IN EVIDENCE (6) knuckled down strongly first up to get within a head of race rival Fine Shot over 1200m at Rockhampton. Goes very well second-up with two wins and a placing from three attempts and drops in weight. Races well here and should get every chance from the inside draw. FINE SHOT (4) was too good when resuming over 1200m at Rockhampton last start, beating In Evidence narrowly. Worse off at the weights but that was his fourth win from just five starts so he is hard to knock. ACRES AWAY (1) will find this easier than the last couple of attempts and has claims off a fresh placing at Rockhampton. HE'S THE ONE (5) was consistent last time in and has placed in both previous fresh attempts so keep safe.
SELECTIONS: In Evidence to turn the tables.

BORDERTOWN: RACE 4 @ 3:20 PM

TINY REBEL (6) is nearing another win, with two close finishes in his most recent efforts. Shoulders a handy record over this journey and is drawn well again. Can get the job done this time. DUKE OF ANJOU (2) looked to be closing in on another win before turning in a poor one at Mt Gambier. Capable of much better. Goes well over the track and trip and can bounce back sharply. SANDHILL KNIGHT (3) was denied narrowly of resuming a winner here but has since struggled to go on with it when tackling tougher opposition. Better suited this time and is in the mix. GOLD LOGIE (8) next best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tiny Rebel to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 8 @ 5:43 PM

A good race. DEMANDING MO (6) improved again beaten narrowly at Kembla Grange and then was too good for the 82 graders at Wagga as expected. Uses the rail and he sits down in the weights. The shorter sprint won't bother and he can go back-to-back for Canberra's premier stable. TAP 'N' RUN (3) won here this grade and then found the 78 at Rosehill a stretch. Has an awkward gate but Cahill stays aboard and he's a chance to bounce. INVERTATIONAL (5) resumes and is a local capable of surprising. Has won fresh and the winkers are first-time applied. Has trialled up here and is certainly good enough. DORAMI (7) will ride the speed from an inside barrier and has been busting to win at this level. Demanding Mo's stablemate FANGELA (2) won the Open here and then found a place in a 72 at Canterbury. Has been freshened and maps for a soft run. A chance as well.
SELECTIONS: Backing Demanding Mo.

TERANG: RACE 1 @ 1:10 PM

GALLOPING GURU (2) has been just behind the placings in both starts to date and strikes a very winnable affair here. The step-up to the 1850m looks to suit and he should be right there when the whips are cracking. NORMA'S FLEET (8) has been thereabouts in all three outings this preparation and will be at peak fitness now. Looms as the main danger. PRINCE OF THE NILE (3) should be positioned on speed and can give backers a sight. NGORONGORO (7) is drawn to get a soft run in transit from gate three and may earn some minor money. ROXY QUEEN (10) next best in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Galloping Guru to break through in a weak contest.

DARWIN: RACE 1 @ 3:05 PM

DEBATING (6) is a former Victorian who was quickly back to form when narrowly beaten heavily bet. Briefly freshened and he should be winning. PROKLISI (10) will be better for the two outings since the switch from NSW. Her best is good enough for this and the 2kg claim is handy. MUTANY (3) comes out of the same race and also found a place. Raced a short-priced favourite in that and a 1.5kg claimer goes aboard today. Gets another chance. ERRONEOUS (7) switched from a Queensland yard and was okay first up. Has a wide gate and goes into the first-fours.
SELECTIONS: Backing Debating.
