Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Caulfield, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Ascot.

ROSEHILL: RACE 4 @ 2:15 PM

GATSBY'S (7) created a big impression on debut when sat up on the speed for a slick victory over 1100m at Canterbury on February 23. Form has since been franked with Roselyn's Star gapping his rivals at Randwick Kensington on Wednesday. Looks up to this and will take holding out. Group 3 winner COLEMAN (1) got shuffled back early as fav and failed to finish the race off when a disappointing 13th over 1200m in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield. Can turn it around here if he jumps cleanly. PARKOUR (2) up sharply in grade when drifted back early on resumption to finish fourth to Storm Boy over 1200m in the G2 Skyline at Randwick on March 2. Fitter now and the blinkers go on today. Look for him late. ANODE (4) tired late from the outside gate on resumption when third to Castanya over 1000m in the LR Lonhro at Randwick on February 10. Since fitted with a 802m trial win on February 26 and expected to play a leading role again.
SELECTIONS: Gatsby's to win.

CAULFIELD: RACE 8 @ 4:15 PM

The All-Star Mile, where MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) is looking for back-to-back wins in the rich race. He's going as well as ever, winning both Group 1 races over 1400m to start the campaign and will only improve again out to a mile third-up. He's a star galloper- close to the best horse in the country and deserves to be in the red. PRIDE OF JENNI (12) looks the logical danger. She beat Mr Brightside in the Champions Mile last campaign but he ran her down first up in the CF Orr. There looks enough pressure here which means she's unlikely to get her own way, but he wouldn't want to give her too big a start. CASCADIAN (2) is a top horse at his best, charging into second behind Mr B in this last year. He'll love a fast-run mile here and looks a decent place bet. DESERT LIGHTNING (8) is an NZ raider who beat Legarto at Ellerslie two back. A big run wouldn't shock.
SELECTIONS: Mr Brightside to win.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 3 @ 12:48 PM

NAVAL TRADER (5) put the writing on the wall second up when he chased well at this track and trip to be beaten only a neck into third. Races well third-up with a win and a placing from two attempts so should be hitting his peak now and has yet to miss a place in five tries at the distance, winning twice. Can strike today. TARPS (6) pushed forward to lead from a wide draw last start and kept going to win by 0.8 lengths over 1200m at Doomben. Bailey Wheeler who has scored on him three times retains the mount. Has the pace to take advantage of the inside draw. IVERSON (7) drifted back from his wide draw but hit the line hard to score a resuming win by 0.6 lengths at Doomben over 1350m. Could go on with it. DAMO DAYZ (9) is two from two here so the return to this course could be the key to him finding form.
SELECTIONS: Naval Trader to peak and win third up.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 6 @ 3:22 PM

QEYAADY (7) has been in the money in his last couple of runs, beaten narrowly on both occasions. Shoulders a handy record over the track and trip and takes benefit from reuniting with winning hoop in Eaton. Ready to strike through. LONRODEX (4) wasn't far away here fresh, despite finishing out of the frame. Sure to have come on with that run under his belt and is drawn to advantage on the inside with sharp hoop in Toeroek piloting. Can give this a big shake. LUNAR HERO (1) drove hard to get the verdict last start at Murray Bridge. This is tougher but can keep the ball rolling. WINNING REVOLUTION (10) has caught the eye in his last two at big odds. Gets in low at the weights and is one to watch for late in the piece. A must for exotic players.
SELECTIONS: Qeyaady to win

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 4:15 PM

WUBIN GOLD (8) turned in a solid first-up effort but just bumped into a fit and in-form horse in the process. Should be fitter for that effort and did show sharp improvement second-up last campaign. She'll probably end up a better horse than these and she can prove that today. CERRIDWYN (3) has been superb all campaign, finishing just 0.9L off the winner here last time out. Brad Parnham was on board for the win two starts ago and hops back in the irons once again. Little niggle with the draw but he's racing well and appears the main danger. NEW MUSIC (10) looks a progressive filly and has performed well at the trials leading into her first-up effort. Ended last campaign in fine style and it wouldn't surprise to see her return in a similar vein. THEHORSEMAN (1) won well last start and it wouldn't surprise to see him go on with the job. YARRALEA (7) has been around the mark her past few and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Wubin Gold gets the nod.
