Posy race reports from recent Sydney and Melbourne meetings.

FLEMINGTON November 1

RACE 1: Our Vespa has pulled up satisfactorily but will be heading back to New Zealand for a spell.

Azkadellia: Pulled up satisfactorily, but due to the filly being immature, will now be sent for a spell

RACE 3: Velrosso bled from both nostrils upon return to the stables, now incurs mandatory 3 month ban under AR53A

RACE 5: Caravan Rolls On pulled up satisfactorily, but will now be sent to spell

RACE 6: Trainer Robert Hickmott advised that Amralah pulled up sore behind and will further advise stewards of vet findings in coming days

RACE 9: Stewards accepted that the reason Bel Sprinter missed the start by five lengths was due to the delay to the start and therefore no action was taken.

ROSEHILL November 1

RACE 1: Stable representative Darren Beadman reported that Exosphere had pulled up feeling the effects of a hard run and has been sent for a spell.

RACE 6: Stable representative Edward Cummings stated that a veterinary examination of Alpha Beat, which was displaying the thumps following its disappointing run, revealed that the gelding had returned to normal. Cummings added that the stable would endeavour to space the runs of Alpha Beat in future.

Co-trainer Mr P Snowden reported She’s A Girl had pulled up well and subsequently worked in a Norton bit. He added he may remove the blinkers and add the Norton bit as the mare overraced in blinkers.

RACE 7: Edward Cummings reported that Forget Maybe, which was racing first up and weakened badly, was displaying no abnormalities.

MOONEE VALLEY October 31

Race 3: Trainer Clinton McDonald advised that Samapinga has pulled up satisfactorily and will be continuing on with the gelding’s preparation.

CANTERBURY September 24

Stewards concluded the inquiry into the reason for the catastrophic breakdown of Onemore Eightmore resulting in it being euthanased on humane grounds when the gelding broke down near the 800m mark. Evidence was taken from trainer S Hood and Racing NSW official veterinarian Dr C Suann. It was established that Onemore Eightmore had sustained comminuted bilateral fractures of the sesamoid bone on the near foreleg and also revealed the presence of bilateral fractures of both sesamoids. Examination of veterinary and treatment records indicated that there were no pre-existing conditions of the gelding requiring treatment.
