NSW

ROSEHILL – March 28

Race 2: Boss Lane’s trainer Ron Quinton stated the gelding had pulled up well subsequent to its disappointing effort. He added that he intended to drop Boss Lane back to a 1200m race away from Rosehill, where it has not performed well in the past.

Race 3: Spy Decoder’s stable representative Edward Cummings reported the gelding had pulled up well, except for some very minor muscle soreness over the hindquarter, which quickly resolved.

Race 4: Peggy Jean’s trainer Gerald Ryan reported that the mare had pulled up well. He added that Peggy Jean would now be freshened up and aimed towards a Brisbane campaign.

Race 7: Opinion’s trainer Chris Waller reported that the gelding had slight swelling in the off foreleg subsequent to being retired near the 1200m by its rider. He revealed that, after anti-inflammatories and icing, the leg quickly returned to normal and scans on March 29 and April 1 cleared Opinion of any tendon or suspensory injuries. Waller submitted that in all likelihood Opinion had struck itself in the run and it was now his intention to proceed towards the Sydney Cup on April 11 and further assess the gelding after a gallop on April 4.

The stewards advised Waller that there were trials available at Broadmeadow on April 8 and Opinion must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards.

Race 8: Caped Crusader’s trainer Gai Waterhouse reported the gelding had pulled up well following its disappointing effort and will have a short freshen up.

Race 9: Himalaya Dream’s co-trainer Michael Hawkes stated the gelding had been spelled following its disappointing performance. Hawkes was advised Himalaya Dream would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again.

HAWKESBURY – March 26

Race 2: Sheer Style’s trainer Gary Frazer advised that subsequent veterinary examinations of the filly, which included an ECG and blood tests, had revealed no abnormalities, however, Sheer Style was showing soreness in the off-hind leg immediately following the race. Frazer further indicated that the filly had pleased since the race and the intention was to continue with its preparation. Frazer was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Sheer Style racing again.
