Sydney Horse Reports: May 5th - 27th

Post race reports from recent meetings.

CANTERBURY May 27

RACE 1: Dane Slugger’s stable representative J Patrick advised that subsequent veterinary examinations and an endoscopic exam had revealed no abnormalities and the colt had pulled up well. He indicated that the intention was to continue with the colt's preparation.

Patrick also advised that the intention would be to ride the horse quieter at its next start. He was advised that a warning would be placed on Dane Slugger for what was deemed to be an unacceptable performance.

RACE 2: Shaahida’s co-trainer Wayne Hawkes advised that the filly had been retired. On this assurance no action was taken.

RACE 3: Lucky Romance’s stable representative Clare Cunningham advised that Lucky Romance had pulled up well and the intention was to step the mare up in distance.

RACE 4: Nip Of Time’s trainer Michael Costa advised the filly had pulled up flat following the race and would now be freshened up before he reassesses Nip Of Time as to whether or not he continues with the mare's preparation.

RACE 7: Stable representative Liam Prior advised that Double Happy had pulled up well and the intention was to drop the gelding back in distance.

Gambler's Blues trainer Tim Martin advised that the gelding had pulled up well with no abnormalities and, in his view, was disadvantaged by not having a start for a month on the soft track conditions. Martin indicated that he would now back up Gambler's Blues in the coming week.

Red Dubawi’s trainer Kerry Parker advised the horse had been spelled.

NOWRA – May 24

RACE 7: Life Of Reilly’s trainer Bede Murray advised that the gelding pulled up well and will now be given a freshen up.

RANDWICK May 23

RACE 2: Trainer Chris Waller reported that Dupe Em had pulled up well and it was the stable's intention to continue with its current preparation

RACE 4: Paederos’ trainer David Payne reported the gelding had pulled up well and that bloods taken following the event had revealed no abnormalities. It was his intention to start Paederos at Rosehill May 30.

RACE 5: Trainer Matthew Dale reported that Meticulously pulled up well and reiterated it did not handle the very heavy track. He stated he will endeavour to find a better surface and continue on with the campaign.

RACE 6: Major Major’s trainer Bryce Heys reported that the gelding had pulled up well and it is his intention to continue on with its preparation.

NEWCASTLE – May 5

RACE 3: Prince High – Stewards concluded the matter relating to a report from the Racing NSW Investigation and Surveillance Unit that there was a haematoma on the nearside portion of the gelding's neck after the samples collected on the day returned negative results.
