Ascot Racecourse today announced the appointment of Guy Davison as a non-executive director of Ascot Authority (Holdings) Limited with immediate effect.

Succeeding Justin Dowley on the Board, Mr Davison, a qualified accountant, was a Founding Partner of Cinven and sits on its Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

During his 27 years at Cinven, Guy has held responsibility for a wide range of investments, including William Hill and Gala Coral, where he sat on the Board of both companies. He is also currently Chairman of Crown and Manor Club - a youth club based in Hackney - and a Trustee of London Youth. A member of the Thurloe Throughbreds racing syndicate for the last decade, he had a horse in training with Richard Hannon as recently as 2014.

Ascot Chairman Johnny Weatherby welcomed the appointment. "I am delighted that Guy has agreed to become our newest non-executive director. As well as enjoying a distinguished business career, he is passionate and knowledgeable about racing. He is an excellent addition to the Board and I look forward to working with him.
