Charities Cheering For Their Horse At Caulfield

Charities attended the horse draw at Caulfield Racecourse to select their horse running in the Bendigo Bank East Malvern MRC Foundation Cup (Group 3 Naturalism Stakes) on Saturday 19 September.

The winning horse will earn a ticket into the BMW Caulfield Cup and their associated charity a share of the $30,000 bonus prize pot.

Last year’s winner Trust in a Gust won for Down Syndrome Victoria; the charity is hoping to win for a second year in a row, selecting another Darren Weir-trained runner, Taiyoo.

Caulfield RSL sold the most tickets so had the privilege of selecting their horse first, favourite

The United States.

The Bendigo Bank East Malvern MRC Foundation Race Day takes place on 19 September at Caulfield Racecourse, with the financial support of the Victorian Government that has provided $80,000 from the Victorian Racing Industry Fund – Raceday Attraction Program.

The race day is designed to support a wide variety of worthy causes from retired racehorses

to sick children, as well as marking the launch of the MRC Foundation.
