Racing Victoria has welcomed the appointment of Jane Ballantyne to the newly created position of Chief Commercial Officer.

Ms Ballantyne joins RV with a wealth of commercial, brand and marketing experience across sport, retail, travel and government organisations having held senior marketing roles at the Grand Prix Corporation, AFL, STA Travel, the Just Group and NIKE.

In her capacity as a consultant, Ms Ballantyne also advised on commercial development, brand, strategic marketing, communications and customer engagement for government and private enterprise organisations. Her clients included Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club in the A-League and the Department of Justice (Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation).

Ms Ballantyne will be responsible for directing the functions of marketing, customer engagement and development as well as media and communications in this executive position.

“Jane has terrific marketing and customer expertise across a range of industries and a strong professional reputation in various commercial areas which will drive the organisation going forward.

“This is a new executive role that will lead our corporate commercial areas of the business and Jane’s appointment will form an important part of shaping the future of RV’s strategic plan over the next 12 months.”

There has been a lot of change in the industry over the last 12 months in particular and it’s a really exciting time to be coming in when you look at some of the plans afoot to re-engage with fans and develop that side of the business.
