Its Durbridge Stakes Day in Adelaide on the weekend and with competitive fields engaged we've found two runners that present with plenty of value to get us through the long weekend.

The seven-year-old gelding only warmed to his task late and had to weave a tight passage when resuming off a long break in his stable debut at Murrray Bridge last time out. Closing off strongly into fourth, the gelding is sure to have come on with that run under his belt and the rise in trip should suit.

The booking of leading rider Jake Toeroek is another push for his chances and I expect the pair to take plenty of stopping this time.

As for our value play, we head to the feature where I'm confident Group 1 winner Savatoxl can turn his form around and play a major role in the Listed Durbridge Stakes.

He's the clear class horse in this bout and while he has struggled to threaten in his first two runs back, he has admittedly been tackling much stronger company in WA, his fresh run coming in the G1 Winterbottom Stakes.

Kept on the fresh side for this assignment, the eight-year-old is a course and distance specialist and should relish dropping back to the 1100m. Expect him to waste no time finding the front and have a bit left in the locker when they sprint.
