Zestful wins 2017 Razor Sharp Qlty Listed $125,000 at Randwick (NSW), 1200m.

After racing quite well without winning in eight prior starts since winning the Triscay Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at this track in February, Kris Lees-trained mare Zestful put up a good effort in scoring here.

She settled in ninth place, just behind the leading ground, tracking a quick pace (first 600m 33.86). She improved well rounding the home turn, sprinted to the front at the 300m and then fought back well to score by a short head in a smart performance.

I Thought So had a good trip in fourth place, between runners, got a split to challenge at the 200m and after quite a battle, he fought on well for a close second, his fourth placing in succession.

Kuro was seventh, between runners, angled into clear running at the 200m and then battled on nicely to just take the minor placing.

Calanda raced in tenth place, between runners, finally got a split at the 200m, went to fourth at the 100m and fought on well to hold that placing, just missing third in a photo.
