Apprentice jockey Chelsea Baker celebrated one of her biggest career highlights when she partnered $1.80 favourite Sir Simon to victory in the Cressy Chaff Cutters Jim Osborne Longford Cup (1800m) on Monday afternoon.

After a slow start to the season trainer John Keys (who has taken over most of the Scott Brunton team) is starting to launch an assault on the trainers premiership moving to third, just two off the pace after another treble in Hobart on Sunday. It’s the second consecutive Hobart meeting where Keys has trained three winners.

Julius confirmed his status as one of the state’s most promising sprinters when he fought back to win a hot benchmark 76 handicap over 1100 metres in Hobart last Sunday.
