Craig Widdison-trained gelding Willi Willi is building a consistent record, now winning five of 12 starts and he put up a really good effort in taking out his first stakes win in good style here. He settled nicely in seventh place on the rails, behind a good tempo, before taking a split at the home, going to third on straightening. He hit the front at the 200m and then drew away to score decisively. Supply And Demand settled midfield with cover, improved (deep) from the 700m, challenged (widest of all) at the home turn and kept battling on gamely under his top weight (62kg) to take second. The favourite Wheal Leisure was just beyond midfield on the rails, got a nice run through at the home turn, went to third at the 100m and battled on to hold that position to the post. Sin To Win was handily placed all the way, challenged nearing the home turn and battled on over the closing stages for (5.6 lengths) fourth.
