The Darren Weir-trained five-year-old gelding Ritzy Dane ($1.80 fav) won easily here at his first race start. He was a little slow to move but soon recovered to take the lead. He was asked for an effort nearing the home turn, where he hung a bit, but he raced away over the final 200m to win by three and three quarter lengths. He looks to have quite a bit of improvement and should continue to progress. *ANZ
