Three-year-old fillies, all making their debut, fought out this Maiden Plate. The Danny O’Brien-trained Snake Charmer settled in fourth place and travelled well before improving at the home turn. She challenged at the 200m and then finished a bit too well, drawing clear to score nicely by a length. She is a nice type and looks quite promising. Able settled second last in the eight-horse field, improved between runners at the turn, going through to fourth at the 200m and then battled on well for a sound second, looking suited to longer. Excelette show pace to share the lead, on the rails, before taking a clear lead on straightening. She then battled on quite well to finish (1.5 lengths) third.
