Summah’s Touch was eased from her outside barrier (11) and went back to last. She made ground along the rails from the 600m and was giving the leader about six lengths on turning for home. She switched out at the 400m, put in a strong run to take the lead at the 100m and then drew clear to win impressively by a length and half. The other filly in the field Hussy By choice began well from a wide barrier (9) and crossed to the lead at the 1300m. She then set an average pace (first 1000m 62.58) before grabbing a break approaching the home turn. She was not headed until the 100m and then held on for a good second. Northpace had a good run in fourth place between runners but he had trouble getting clear on turning for home and was pushed back to seventh at the 200m. He made ground when clear from the point for a good third, finishing just in front of the late-closing Purple Tiger who came from near last for fourth. The favourite Dream Lifter ($3) was trapped three wide without cover outside the leaders to the turn but he dropped out on straightening, racing well below his best for a disappointing ninth, beaten eight and a half lengths. *ANZ
