Rock Magic followed his good win in the Roma Cup (Gr 3, 1200m) at Ascot on 20 May, when having his third run this preparation, with another Group success here. He began well from his inside barrier (1), settled in fourth place on the rails before easing across heels at the home turn. He challenged at the 200m and then finished a bit too well to score a smart win. The Railway Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Scales Of Justice, who was having his first run since runner up in the Kingston Town Classic (Gr 1, 1800m) on 3 December, was caught three wide (without cover) from his wide barrier (12) in third place. He got to the front at the 250m and then fought gamely for a very good first up second after a difficult trip. Disposition settled back in 9th place, got between runners rounding the home turn, angled into clear running at the 200m and then finished well for a very good third in a promising effort at his second run this preparation.
