Schweppes Mdn Plate
The lightly raced filly Nakusha drove through with good early pace from barrier three and soon took the lead. She then settled well and easily moved clear rounding the home turn. She was ridden out from the 100m and went to the line quite well to win by two lengths. It was a promising effort at only her second start. Cuban Gold was very slow to move from her inside barrier (1) and did not show any pace being a distant last to the 600m. She fanned wide at the home turn and came with a strong late run for an eye-catching second. She should appreciate stepping up in distance and is also worth watching. *ANZ
