Three-year-old colt Truculent put up a promising effort in scoring his first win, resuming here at his fourth race start. He was eased at the start and remained towards the tail of the 11-horse field to home turn. He switched between runners on straightening and then came with a strong run to hit the front at the 100m and then drew clear to win easily.
