After seconds at his first two runs this preparation, the James Cummings-trained three-year-old Potent Force scored a good win here, his first win in four starts to date. He well away from his inside barrier (1) and settled in third place on the rails. He moved up nearing the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and then went on to score with something in hand. The Chris Waller-trained colt Betcha Thinking raced in second last pace in the seven-horse field before getting between runners coming to the home turn. He was third on straightening and then battled on quite well for second, without troubling the winner.
