Chris Waller-trained filly Noire is building a consistent record, now with two wins and two seconds after five starts. She began well from her outside barrier (9), and after being deep in the early stages, settled outside the leader (La Chica Bella). She put pressure on that filly from the 600m, got to the front at the 200m and then after quite a battle in the closing stages she did best to score a good win, albeit narrowly at the post. The Joe Pride-trained La Chica Bella went to the front, looked beaten at the 200m but then lifted gamely, fighting hard for a close second, her first defeat in three starts.
