May’s Dream, a daughter of the 2003 Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) runner-up She’s Archie (Archway) looks to be one of the better class fillies in Victoria this season. She was eased from her outside barrier in the small seven-horse field and settled sixth, one off the rails, following a moderate tempo (first 800 50.62). Nick Hall switched her out on straightening and she show a good turn of foot to take the lead at the 100m. She then went on for a soft win, scoring by just over a length. Bulbula raced outside the leader, took the lead entering the straight but found the winner too good in the closing stages, holding on for a sound second. Suavito battled on fairly well for third, after appearing to have every chance. *ANZ
