Set Square enjoyed a lovely run in the race in fifth position three back on the fence. Nick Hall stayed to the fence before switching across the leaders heels at the 300m. She picked up really well and stayed strongly the whole way to the line to score with a little in reserve. A step up in distance will most definitely suit this promising daughter of Reset. The short-priced favourite Maastricht raced on the outside of the winner in sixth position. She commenced a three wide move at the 600m before taking the home turn on the outside of the field. She was nursed into the straight by Dwayne Dunn ominously, but failed to pick up as strongly as the winner, staying on gamely at one pace for second. It was a good effort at only her fourth start. She should improve for the experience and a step up in distance. Imperial Lass raced in fourth position one out one back. She moved up three wide from the 600m pressing the leader on cornering for home hitting the front momentarily at the 250m before staying on at one pace to the line to finish third.
