Yu Long Sheng Hui followed his easy debut win in a Maiden Handicap (1100m) at Wodonga on 14 June to score really well again, despite stepping up in class. He settled about fourth, but trapped three wide without cover and then, despite his wide trip, he hit the front at the 200m and fought back to score well. Wazzenme raced in fourth place, between runners, switched into clear running at the 200m and then fought gamely to dead-heat for second in a good effort at his second race start. Navagio settled in third place on the rails from her inside barrier (1) and kept battling on well in the straight to dead-heat for second in a most improved effort at her second race start. The favourite Tenappy Ladies worked to find the lead but tired in the straight after his early efforts to finish (7.4 lengths) sixth.
