The Lindsay Park-trained filly Catchy is now unbeaten in two starts following her impressive debut win at Moonee Valley on 9 December with another smart win here. She began well before settling in third place, one off the rails. She was asked to improve on straightening, got to the front at the 100m and then drew away to score easily. The Robert Smerdon-trained Property went to the front, had some mid-race pressure and held a nice break in the straight. He then ran about racing greenly when challenged at the 100m and fought well for second in a sound debut run. The Tony Vasil-trained Kedleston was last in the sixhorse field, got through to third at the 200m and then battled on quite well to take the minor placing.
