Little Brown Horse was ridden quietly as usual and settled at the tail of the nine-horse field, following a good pace. She was taken to the centre of the track on straightening, put in a strong run to challenge at the 100m and finished too well to score comfortably, putting up a smart effort. Tukiyo showed good pace from her outside barrier (9) and soon crossed to the front. But she was then pressured in the lead (by Rosenet) before taking a clear break at the 200m. She was only overhauled nearing the post, holding on for a very good second after a demanding trip. Favourite Fine Mist raced in fourth place, between runners, challenged coming to the 200m and then battled on to finish third after seeming to have every chance. Frill Seeking was fifth on the rails, got along the inner from the 200m and fought on for fourth, beaten just under three lengths.
