The smart three-year-old Better Than Ready scored an impressive win over his older more experienced opposition in this Listed event. He began well and eased to get a good run third on the rails travelling nicely. He angled for an inside run at the 300m, getting through shortly afterwards, and the colt dashed clear before being eased down nearing the post for a three length win - his fifth in eight starts. Craiglea Falcon was back past midfield and followed the winner through on the rails from the 300m, battling on to take second. The Sixites led early then raced behind the mid-race leader, Joint Chiefs, before coming outside that horse at the turn and holding on for third, beaten three and three quarter lengths.
